The theme of the contest was the realization of a new building attached / related to the construction of the existing "Book Depot" which would include the following functions:

• book deposit with free access to the shelf
• public spaces
• a conference room, multiplication, binding and digitization workshops.

The option adopted in the project is to incorporate the existing body in a unitary volume that would bring this side of the library back to the traditional scale of the existing constructions.

At the same time, the interstitial space is transformed into a semi-private inner courtyard, an element that can be found in the typology of the neighboring constructions.

The main access to the new body is directed through the interstitial space for its capitalization and potentiation. In the same space is arranged an open-air amphitheater for the widening of the options and the intervals of use of the entire ensemble of library buildings.
